Curiosity & Loss

Sharing one of my favourite works by Oliver Jeffers. I’m moved by the children’s voices as they read the story and play in the background. To learn more about Mr. Jeffers, visit here.

Bell Rock Lighthouse

BellRock-construction

Slope, curve and horizontal dovetailing. The design and construction of Bell Rock Lighthouse (Angus, Scotland) is absolutely fascinating. Built by engineer Robert Stevenson from 1807-1810, it stands as the “world’s oldest surviving sea-washed lighthouse.” On the bucket list to see!

Looking In…

I’ve always been fascinated by miniature houses. After watching Doyle’s explanation of his work, I think my pleasure derives from the process of constructing a narrative for the characters and their setting. Doyle invites the participant to escape from their world and into his art. Brilliant! Cool Hunting Video: Thomas Doyle from Cool Hunting on Vimeo.
