Chief

20160625_142706 copy.jpgThis afternoon I met artist Andy Anissimoff while at the Squamish Sunday Farmer’s Market. There’s a fantastic energy in his paintings. His brushstrokes are strong and bold. He captures everything that I love about hiking from peak to creek. Pop by the Tantalus Art Galley in Squamish to view more of his work. I had to pick up this beautiful print of The Chief (pictured above). I also grabbed another print of a bear. One day, I’ll own an original!

Done

IMG_9003What a day! Based on my Batman watch, I think I broke 2 hours! A record! And a big thank you to my buddy Chris! As I was heading down to the race, my water bladder hose separated from the pack and water began streaming down my back like Shannon Falls! Fortunately, Chris filled it back up for me and sent me off to race. Best friend 🙂

Give

20160624_184235 (1)This afternoon I received a beautiful, handwritten card from playgroundbuilders.org. Playground Builders is a Canadian-based charity that designs and builds playgrounds for children living in war-torn countries. They’ve installed over 200 and counting! I became aware of their efforts through my dear friend Mr. Kirby Brown. Mr. Brown is one of the most generous and brilliant individuals I know and I feel very fortunate to have crossed paths with him. I am reminded through people, such as Mr. Brown, that the world is a place where one person can make a significant impact in the lives of others. Keep up the amazing work Playground Builders!
