The great fault of all ethics hitherto has been that they believed themselves to have to deal only with the relations of man to man. In reality, however, the question is what is his attitude to the world and all life that comes within his reach. A man is ethical only when life, as such, is sacred to him, and that of plants and animals as that of his fellow men, and when he devotes himself helpfully to all life that is in need of help. ~ Albert Schweitzer (1949)

Experience Life
“You have been given this life, not to endure it – but to experience it and to find all the ways in which you can challenge your brains, your guts, your heart, in every shape and form – come low or high water. It is yours to live and only yours that you will ever understand..” (anonymous)

Postholing Garibaldi

Hiked Garibaldi with my buddy Stephen! He took this shot at The Barrier. Fantastic day! See more of our adventure here. I’m particularly fond of the face plant photo below! :).

The afternoon challenged us to say the least. The ground became sloshy. My legs cut through snow like a hot knife slicing butter. We opted to leave the snowshoes in the car due to their weight. Massive mistake. Great workout though! 🙂 Read the stages of postholing here! Absolutely hilarious and I thoroughly experienced them all.

My interest is the journey. Negotiating the terrain. Trying to overcome the challenges and adversities along the way. Immersing myself in an experience that tests my perseverance and strength. Willing myself to take another step knowing I may sink again. And again. And again!
Cheers!

Methods of Teaching Science
Children have formed an opinion of science by the age of 7! Interesting. I believe part of this opinion, negative or positive, is based on how children are assessed and evaluated on the topic. Learn more:

Down To Me
SuperNova II
Heart’s in Nova Scotia. Beautiful place. Witty and engaging people. Rich history. Made new friends that felt as warm and comfy as a fisherman’s worn sweater. They’re leaving a key for me underneath the mat, come join me next winter!
