VentureWell Open 2015

Heading out to D.C. next week for VentureWell’s Open 2015! You can catch me at the Creation and Assessment of Collaborative Innovation Spaces panel session with Bonnie Sanborn (Cornell University), Tom Schryver (Cornell University), Steve Erwin (Shepley Bulfinch), and Joe Rondinelli (Shepley Bulfinch). Want more info? Check Rev Ithaca Startup Works blog (Thanks Bonnie!). Excited to be surrounded by those making a difference in this world (see video above).

Following VentureWell, I’ll be heading west to present at the Society for College and University Planning 2015 Conference in Portland, Oregon. Join me at Designing Innovation: Hubs, Labs, and Maker Space where we’ll be discussing creativity, the conditions supportive of the process, and the role of the physical environment.

One week. Over 6,000 kilometres to cover. Yikes! Follow me if you can!

The Wanderer, Wonderer

In research and in life, it’s all about how you frame your questions. The question guides your journey, serves as a reference point when you feel lost, and quite often leads you to new discoveries and identifies further areas of exploration. Invest the time to accurately word your question and consider the assumptions you make as you articulate your line of inquiry. As Silva explains in the video above, “It’s not about the answers! It’s about the better questions!” Most of all, be passionate about your question because it’s that energy and drive that will serve as a great motivator during your quest.
