There are moments when I look at a piece of art and this rush of emotion hits me. When I first noticed the hole, I felt a void. And then I realized it was an entry point to her heart and to a little bird’s home. Oh how I long to watch the feathers fly to and from her chest. Everything about this works. Everything.
